The Story from the Co-Founder

I’m Carl G Morris, co-founder of AfyaLISHE. In August of 2023 I was diagnosed with stage three liver cancer and was given two months to two years to live. I started chemotherapy treatments called immunotherapy. After having three treatments, I wasn’t able to continue with them because part of my white blood cell count,called neutrophils, were devastated and prevented the continuation of the treatment. The doctor said they should recover on their own in three weeks but they didn’t and doctors knew of no cure for them. Through research my son discovered that dark chocolate increased neutrophil counts amongst having a variety of additional health benefits. I began eating chocolate and after visiting Dr. Danny Khalil at Sloan Kettering, he determined my liver was functioning alright and for now, hold off on further treatments. I was overwhelmed with joy but I still live with caution. A thought came to mind that I had a very good friend from Tanzania, Africa.
